Webinar: Church Budgeting 101

Church Budgeting Webinar with Max Herr

You wouldn’t set out on a road trip to a distant destination without a map. In the same way, churches need a map – let’s call it a budget – to plot their ministry destination.

A well-crafted budget gives a church a game plan – a roadmap if you will – to minister from Jan. 1-Dec. 31. No doubt potholes and detours will be encountered. But you still have a map to get you back on track. The budget should be a public document that is crafted on a bedrock of biblical principles.

Successful churches typically use one of three time-tested models of budgeting to plot their course.  Each one takes a slightly different approach to allocating funds across the needs of the church.  Our presenter, Max Herr, CEO of Church & Ministry Compliance Consulting, served his church as treasurer for more than 10 years, during which time the church’s budget doubled.  Reasonable budgets and clear financial reports were key elements of that growth and set the stage for the church to greatly expand its ministries to children and youth – the true lifeblood of a church.

In this 90-minute webinar, Max will share his knowledge and experience and explain each of the three models of budgeting as you get ready to work on next year’s budget. This training will explore the need for a foundational chart of accounts, the pros and cons of each model, and the correct steps to take when creating an annual budget.  Following the main presentation, there will be 30-minutes allotted for live Q&A.
